The Cabin

Our Christmas break has been so relaxing and fun!  We've spent lots of time with family and so far  we've played lots of games, slept in 'til 10 everyday, eaten way too much food, made Scott suffer through watching Les Miserables (I thought it was amazing), taken lots of naps and gone to the Discovery Museum with the kids.

But my favorite thing about break so far was going to my cousin's cabin in Truckee, California.

Their wood cabin is so cute and cozy.  When we got there, my cousin Melody had lots of yummy food and treats waiting for us.

There was 4 feet of snow outside and it was still snowing when we got there!  We all warmed up with some hot bowls of Melody's homemade soup and chilli.  It tasted so good and it was nice to be able to spend time with family (we don't get to see them very often).

After eating and relaxing by the fire we decided it was time to go play in the snow.  Their cabin is in the mountains in Tahoe so there were plenty of places for us to explore in the hills in their backyard.

We went sledding, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and built a big snow igloo in the front yard.

My niece and cousin were so excited to go sledding down the ramp we made

Dakota wasn't as excited after she face planted in the snow
My turn to go.  I wiped out just as much as the kids haha

After playing in the snow, we came inside to get warm and play some games.  Then we ate even more of Melody's amazing food.  There was SO much food-chicken, lasagna, salad, garlic bread, brownies, cookies, cake, and ice cream!  We loved it, and we all went home in a food coma.

It was a great day of fun, food and family!
