Gluten Free All-Purpose Flour

Gluten free flour is a necessity for cooking or baking delicious gluten free recipes.  I used to just buy pre-made gluten free flour at Whole Foods but at $6 a bag it can get expensive after a while.  This blend might be expensive at first (when you initially buy the separate flours) but the great thing about it is that you can double or triple the batches and to have more around for your next recipe (and save you money in the long run!).  Both of these flour recipes will make your baked goods just the right consistency and texture.  Try this blend in my gluten free pumpkin bread recipe this holiday season.

1 cup sorghum flour
1 cup white rice flour

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.  Whist to make sure the flours are evenly distributed.  This recipe can be doubled or tripled.  Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

    1. The cost depends on where you live and where you buy your gluten free products. I find that Whole Foods is the most expensive place and it's usually cheaper to buy them in the natural food section of a local grocery store. That said, the average cost is usually around $13-15 initially for all of your gluten free flours. It's a good investment though because you can use the flours in other recipes and also double/triple your flour blend to have on hand for more recipes.

  2. Love this!!!! I spend way too much on GF AP flour. I've tried making my own blend but failed miserably or they only worked in one thing. I definitely have to not this for next time and stock up on the goods at the bulk bins :)
